Jenny’s Bridal
April 28th, 2010
I don’t usually show a lot of flash photography as part my repertoire, but I think Jenny’s bridal is a great representation. No worries, she’s a married woman now so I’m safe to show these. I’ve come to realize that flash photography or whatever you want to call it is such a major obsticale as a wedding photographer. It’s always such a question of when to use it and how. I certainly don’t think I’ve master it by any means, but I have some tricks that work for me and make me happy. I know, where am I going with this…I guess I find that using it a lot at weddings or any event appears to take away from the “realness” (for lack of a better word) of what’s going on. In general I opt out for it, unless it’s just necessary OR because I have some creative vision in my head, which does happen occasionally. ;) In the end, to me, the best photographers are those that know their way around the flash and can also go without it. From there, the sky is the limit I suppose.
Sorry for the ramblings, but I get emails on flash questions a good bit and I really wanted to share my philosophy on the subject. Jenny, thanks for being my every beautiful example. I’m so excited for you and Tim!! Cheers! Olivia

Mandy’s Bridal
April 26th, 2010
Happy Monday Everyone! So I’d like to start off the week with Mandy’s bridal pics. No worries, her wedding was a couple weeks ago at the Cliffs Chapel. I’ll have those images shortly, but in the mean time how about some lovely shots of her in her gown. We took these at Furman since it was a special place to her. I honestly didn’t think the shoot would happen because it was snowing that day! We discussed it and I was in if she was in so we went for it. I’m so glad we did.
Congrats Mandy to you and Gordon!! Love you both! Liv

Lucy’s Bridal
March 22nd, 2010
I’ve been dying to post these images from Lucy’s bridal last fall. I promised I wouldn’t until after the wedding, which was this past Saturday. I honestly just have to thank everyone in Lucy and Bryan’s families. They were all so gracious to me. It was my birthday on her wedding day. And yes I turned 29 again for the second year in a row. Not only did Lucy give me the sweetest birthday present, which was a new tote bag (no girl can have too many bags and I am one of them) but Bryan’s mom made me a little cake from scratch. This cake was delicious. I don’t know what Bryan’s mom does for a living, but if making cakes isn’t part of it, it should be. Believe me I know my cakes, I eat cake about 25 times a year at every wedding. I can tell you the good from the bad. HA!
So thanks again to everyone. You were all so lovely and I’m honored to have shared this day with you all. Olivia
